We are delighted to announce the release of our 2009 Blanc de Blancs. Produce from 100% Chardonnay, this special wine has spent a minimum of 69 months ageing on its yeast lees before release.
Following a hot summer in 2009, the Chardonnay grapes came into the winery ripe, clean and full of flavour. Golden in colour, with vivid, fine bubbles, this wine has rich, nutty, autolytic characters on the nose accompanied by hazelnut, kiwi fruit, pear and citrus fruit aromas. There is complexity and richness from aging on the lees with yeasty, brioche aromas and classic chardonnay notes of ripe green apple.
On the palate there is mouth-watering freshness with a creamy mousse and good flavour intensity. Green apple, mandarin, white grapefruit and hints of tropical fruit flavours, such as pineapple and kiwi fruit form the backbone of the wine. A fresh zesty acidity, rich mouthfeel and biscuit falvours on the palate deliver a long, dry, complex finish.
